We kicked off our 2024 events calendar last Thursday night.  Historically we like to warm up in February with a networking night at Deer Park, but at the suggestion of the Special Events Committee we changed it up and went to Wilmington Brew Works.  The location and libations did not disappoint!  Thanks to our Bar Sponsors, GBuild Construction Managers and Santora CPA Group.

Also new in 2024, to spice things up, DCA staff members participated in a chili cook off at the event.  Bryon Short, sponsored by JJID, Mary Sheldon, sponsored by Merit Construction Engineers, Inc., and me sponsored by Geo-Technology Associates, Inc.  The votes were tallied, and I am proud to say my chili won and team GTA took home the gold.  You can find photos from the evening here.   

Quite a few members mentioned doing the event again and allowing them to enter their infamous chili.  So here is your sign to brush up on your recipes for 2025!

I would like to take a moment and let you know I have taken on a new role within DCA as the Director of Member Success.  The role encompasses everything from workforce development to helping you make business connections at our events.  What can DCA do to assist your company’s continued advancement and growth?

Our next event is the Governor’s Safety Awards and Members Expo on Thursday, March 28^th.  We are currently collecting applications from our contractor members.  If you have not received a copy of the application, please email me.  New this year, we are accepting applications via email.  It only takes about 10 minutes to complete the form so don’t miss the opportunity to be honored by us and the Governor’s office.
