It was a hot one but a fun one! DCA’s 49^th Annual Crab Feast is in the books. With a great turnout, everyone enjoyed all the crabs they could eat, Timothy’s buffet, cold beer along with lots of other choices. As always, the Crab Feast t-shirt designed by the Young Executive Committee (YEC) members was a big hit.

As you all know, the YEC members are the ones who turn Crab Feast plans into reality. Their hard work leading up to the event, the evening of the event and even the day after are what really make this possible. Marla as DCA’s Special Events coordinator and Jamie as the staff for the YEC committee both put a tremendous amount of energy into making the Crab Feast an event that our members and their guests look forward to every year.

As with any big event, there are many to be thanked for making it possible. First, I want to thank Nicholas J. Ferrara, III, Greggo and Ferrara, for the continued generous donation of his property to hold the event. Second, a special thank you must be extended to our Event Sponsor Eastern Highway Specialist. Our Equipment Sponsors Active Crane Rentals and Strobert Crane Rentals made the approach over the bridge spectacular with the huge American flags waving from their cranes.

We did get a surprise at the close of the event as an unexpected severe storm moved in rapidly. Fortunately, it was just as we were cleaning up so everyone was able to enjoy the full event, but boy was there some excitement as very high winds blew through the tents and heavy rain fell bringing our clean up efforts to an abrupt halt. The cranes were rapidly lowered as lightning began. Many thanks to Marla, Jamie and the YEC members who returned the next morning to finish the cleanup.
