From the Desk of Executive Director Bryon Short - October 4, 2024

On the first workday of fall, DCA’s members were spending time on business development while having a fun round of golf at Hartefeld National. We had a nice turnout of members playing alongside their customers and guests on a pretty traditional early fall weather day. It was a bit overcast but Jamie Chambers used her magic weather wand to delay the rain until everyone got off of the course.

Following the round and dinner, prizes were awarded for lowest scores, closest to the pin, and longest drive. Congratulations to the following golfers:

Lowest Score Allan Myers Materials (Mike Gygrynuk, Duane Schulties, Jay Miller,
                                           Chris DeLong)

Second Place Sobieski (Ian Murphy, Kyle Butler, Jameson Eveland, Alex
                                            Hantman)

Third Place Eastern Highway Specialist (Chris Magdefrau, Phil Horsey, Dave
                                            Dixon, Brian Philips)

Closest to Pin Chris DeLong (Allan Myers Materials)

Longest Drive Ian Murphy (Sobieski)

We greatly appreciate Wayman Fire Protection and Union Wholesale generously stepping up to be our Beverage Sponsor as well as our Happy Hour Sponsors! Many thanks to Ferguson Waterworks for their continued support of DCA as our Cart Sponsor. Additionally, our nineteen tee sponsors are greatly appreciated for their support of DCA and our mission as the Voice of Construction in Delaware.

Fall is always a busy time for DCA events designed to ensure you and your guests have fun while expanding business opportunities. The next month brings more chances to network and celebrate being a member of an organization that has a very real impact on Delaware’s construction economy. Next Friday, our annual fall CACC luncheon will have the two major party gubernatorial candidates as guests for a panel discussion of their vision for Delaware. Please contact Mary Sheldon if you have not yet registered for this event. You will not want to miss former Eagles linebacker Seth Joyner as our keynote speaker at our 54th Annual Dinner on October 24 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. For our shooting enthusiast, our Fall Clay Shoot is November 6th at M&M Hunting Preserve.

Thanks to all who participated in the golf outing. We are looking forward to seeing you at the great events in the weeks ahead.
