Everyone has different reasons for being a member of DCA. Some people love DCA’s fun and engaging events. Some people value our government affairs and advocacy activities. Others value the training we can provide to their staff. We have two main types of DCA members: Contractor Members and Associate Members.
One of the key reasons that we hear Associate Members join and stay involved in DCA is to make connections and do business with other DCA members. Associate Members’ attendance is robust at DCA events, and they get to meet with key staff from construction companies to the build connections that lead to business success.
Associate Members also have a voice on the board through “Associate Member Council.” Over the next couple months, I want to highlight some interviews with Associate Members and hope that all DCA members, whether they are Contractor Members or Associate Members, spread the value of the DCA and encourage others to join.
As the “Voice of Construction” in Delaware, DCA fights for policies that support the construction industry and economy at large. By attending DCA events, you unlock the maximum benefit from your DCA membership we hope to see you at our upcoming events.
Here is an interview with a longtime Associate Member, Andrew Bianchino of WSFS Bank.
What is your Name, Company, and Role?
Andrew Bianchino/WSFS/Commercial Lender
How long have you been a DCA member?
30+ years
How do you use DCA to connect with other companies?
I am active on several DCA committees. While serving on these committees, I have built working relationships with DCA’s leadership and staff as well as active contractor and associate members.
What is your favorite DCA networking event?
I love the Crab Feast and its energy. It is a staple summertime event.
What part do Associate members play at DCA?
At DCA, Associate Members get to be active on many committees and serve on the board. They have many chances to network and connect with potential customers and partners and provide market information related to contractors.
How has DCA helped your business?
Through my DCA membership, I have gained inside industry knowledge about what is happening in the construction industry and what legislation is out there that impacts Delaware’s economy. It makes me a better Delaware citizen to be informed.
Why should a company consider joining DCA?
Business success is all about connecting and building relationships with others.
